Why We Love Movies
Movies are stories. Stories are a reflection of humans and their existence in this world. When we look at our history on this planet, short relative to the age of the universe, commonalities arise from every culture that has existed. From the Sumerians to Ancient Peru to the Babylonians to the Shang Dynasty to the Olmecs & Mayans to the Roman Empire until our present world the stories we tell tie humankind together. The love and laughter and the sadness and loss. The hope and the faith that drives us forward and despite our differences links us for eternity.
Movies are another way to encapsulate those feelings for us while we are here and for future civilizations to look back on centuries from now. Like viewing drawings or carvings in temples, pyramids and caves in today's world and realizing just how alike we are. While movies remind us of our mortality and can bring a tear to our eye they can also bring joy and love and help to remind us how amazing it is to be alive.
